Introduction
The purpose of this portfolio is to present a detailed, personalized, and interactive representation of the AICE Biology course content material. This course is designed to allow students to build upon prior knowledge retained in an IGCSE level class, but places a heavier emphasis on practical skill, thoroughly preparing students for the examination that follows upon completion of the school year. This website has been designed in an easy-to-follow manner, with pages and associated tabs located in the upper left-hand corner, each incorporated with course content, associated assignments, vivid images, and constructive videos, illustrating my level of mastery pertaining to the five units of this course.
Personal Information
My name is Abena Ansah-Yeboah, and I am currently in my senior year at Potomac Senior High School. Over the course of my high school career I have involved myself in a variety of extracurricular activities, some pertaining to personal interests and others geared towards the work in which I hope to pursue in the future. I participate in clubs such as National Honor Society, Student Athletic Council, and Key Club, all of which exemplify my dedication to my local community in the form of service projects. I am also a big fan of expression, whether it is through music, art, or writing, and have shown my love for each by becoming a member of the Marching Band program, serving as Editor-in-Chief of Potomac's Senior Class Newsletter, and engaging in photography and scrap booking in my leisure time. My goal in taking AICE Biology was to expand upon my knowledge in this field of science and form my own understanding of its importance and relation to the world around us, as well as to give myself exposure to the nature and rigor of taking a collegiate-level course. Undoubtedly, I will take in all that I have learned this year, pertaining to both the coursework ad well as the experience, as I go on to begin my undergraduate education at Duke University in hopes of pursuing medical research.
